Opps.

February 4, 2007

The last few posts I have put up and then taken down a few days later. As a writer I am still learning healthy discloser on the web. It’s hard to know how much is too much, but then I check my stats and remember that I have no clue who reads my stuff. This once again reminds me to stop and really think before posting.

So. If you have read my blog over the last few days just know that I revealed a little too much of me. It was too much of my opinions and too much of my heart.

Part of my problem stems from not being really clear about the purpose of “Fly Away”. I do know what I don’t want it to be and that is a journal or a way to get to know me. Right now Kansas City is still a new place and a bit lonely. I’m real bad at making friends, so I fear that I have allowed my blog to be a place of sharing things that should be saved for good comrades in the faith.

I apologize for using my readers as web friends. I guess it does make me feel good to know that 40 people just read what I think. But the allusion is such, that only my friends and family really know me.

Vulnerability on the internet is just a bad idea, but oh so tempting. I guess my hope is that my page will be an opportunity for me to organize and communicate the truths I am learning in Christ. I want the reader, may it be a friend or stranger, to find my words stirring their hearts to pursue the deep things of Jesus. And I also want this to be a place where I can share some of the very odd occurrences in my life that happen to amuse me.

All this to say that if you are a regular reader and I do not know you, please take this opportunity to comment. I would really like to know who you are and I promise to think of you before baring all, in a post I should have just saved as a file to my desktop.

Thanks for clarifying the purpose of your blog. I believe you are hitting the mark of your goal. It sounds like you’ve had a good course correction (sailing term, although I don’t sail). Please consider me for those desktop journals that don’t make the blog. Temper Fi…
